Xavier, enthusiast sailor based in Arcachon, found passionate professionals with the tandem Paolo Bua architect and Alexandre Genoud – shipbuilder -, who designed the ideal boat combining performance and simplicity. The first two composite wood units were constructed by the shipyard “Chantier des ileaux” in Noirmoutier and tested in various conditions. Enthusiastic press reports in Bateaux edition qualifying her as “the friendly racer” or Voiles & Voiliers declaring the XO “Classicism & modernity combined”.
Emmanuel had the idea to make this boat more accessible by reviewing her construction technique without compromising on performance, comfort, safety, the level of finish and customization possibilities. This sparked our investment project for new production techniques in order to reduce costs without any compromise on quality or aesthetics. These changes improve the velocity thanks to a reduction of the boats weight by 20 %.
Alexandres know-how of ship building enabled the company to complete the first prototype (XO), similar to the construction of “strip-planking” sailboats such as the Legerro L8 (special jury prize in the election of the boat of the year VoileMag 2011).

Alexandre Genoud, graduate from English school of shipbuilding, has managed during 10 years his own shipyard. He built successful sailboats, with constant focus on easiness to sail, on aesthetics marrying the modern materials with the warmth of wood.
Emmanuel a sailing fans curious and rigorous, entrepreneurs in consulting and electronics, support the project on financial organization, administrative and commercial matters. The objective is to ensure the satisfaction of customers with a quality product and a “zero default” service.
Antoine, who took over the marketing tools (web site and exhibitions), is a semi-professional sailors. Marie looks after the image and the components of communication; and secures the logistics and administration.
Nils Frei, from the Alinghi team, participates in the project as a consultant offering to you his skills of professional, to help you redesigning the mast or the wings according to any specific sailing program you may have.

Chantier des Ileaux (Noirmoutier)
Chantier naval des Ileaux à Noirmoutiers (France), is specialised in restoration and construction of traditional and modern ships (strip-planking). This shipyard is labelled « Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant ». With a staff of 7 people educated in ship building area this shipyard developed a competence in Strip-planking manufacturing and has the adequate infrastructure for such assembly work.
